Close and Reopen a Dictation

If you are in the middle of a dictation and need to attend to another matter, you may close the dictation and continue transcribing later.

To close and reopen a dictation, do the following.

1.  Click the Closes Current Audio File icon (the closed yellow folder) to close the dictation.

2.  When you want to continue the dictation, click the Open a New Audio File icon (the open yellow folder).

3.  The Open Audio panel will now display.  Select the dictation from the list in the Select an audio file box.  When you select the dictation, you will hear an audio preview of it.  Click the Open button in the lower right or double-click the file name.

4.  Your dictation is now available for continuation of transcription.  Note the position of the indicator on the slider.  The indicator will be at the point at which you closed the file, so you can quickly resume transcription.
